Verna Linzey Reaching 16 Million for Christ in California

Encounter Gospel News

ESCONDIDO, Calif., July 14, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- On May 1, 2013, the Rev. Rich Guerra, who is the Superintendent of the SoCal Network of the Assemblies of God, expressed appreciation to the Rev. Dr. Verna Linzey, an internationally known crusade evangelist, for helping reach 16 million lost souls people in Southern California.

Rev. Guerra, a friend of Dr. Linzey, stated:

I want to remind you that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for ministering in the SoCal Network. Ministering to people is very rewarding work, yet it can be very challenging. I pray that God will encourage your heart, reassure you of your calling and richly provide for you. I appreciate all that you do to disciple the individuals in your ministry to help reach the 16 million in Southern California who don't know Jesus Christ. You are prayed for and appreciated more than you know, friend!

Dr. Linzey recently was the focal point of revival which broke out at Azusa Street, Bonnie Brae Street, the Los Angeles Mission, and outside the state in Houston, New Jersey, Virginia and the nation of Haiti, ministering to crowds of about 20,000 people, and where she met and prayed with the regional chief of the United Nations and the governor of the Cap-Haiten region. Adapting to technological advances, she has ministered to an audience of over 9,000 people on Facebook with a series of teachings on the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

In Haiti, something unique happened. Involved in religion as statecraft, aside from her evangelistic crusade, when meeting the United Nations chief of the northern region of Haiti, Emilio Castaneda, topics of discussion in that summit included the presence and purpose of the United Nations in Haiti, verification of mission accomplishment, exit strategies, strategies for meeting the religious needs of the United Nations troops, and the chief's personal faith in Jesus Christ. The summit concluded with Dr. Linzey praying a blessing over the Chief, as he knelt before her and received the laying on of hands.

Verna is the author of the widely acclaimed book, The Baptism with the Holy Spirit. Her second television series, "The Holy Spirit Today," is in the process of being edited to show around the world. She is a crusade evangelist, movie actress, recording artist, songwriter, and author.

Verna Linzey Best Non-Fiction of the Year Award from Christian Writers’ Guild

2006 Awards Event
This year we had the most interesting crop of books I think I’ve ever seen submitted, ranging from subjects like pain and penguins, God, death, historical fiction, starting out as a writer, and parenting. One book talks about how God plants the seeds of greatness in our lives, another is an in-depth, well researched teaching on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, while another is a heart-wrenching story of abuse. One psychological mystery reminded me of watching The Sixth Sense while another about death notices felt a little like the Twilight Zone. Some were funny, even irreverent, some very encouraging, and some serious and hard to read for the difficult content.
After two months of intense reading, I honestly cannot remember a more spirited, discussion-filled board meeting. So often the choices have been clear-cut and need little discussion. This year, every book made us think and hash over the merits and flaws. We all had our personal favorites. In the end, we chose the books and articles and poems that we agreed are best written and handle their subjects most successfully, but every piece submitted gave us a lot to think about. Jennie Gillespie, President, SDCWG

Verna Linzey Films New Television programs on The Holy Spirit

ESCONDIDO – CALIFORNIA
August 8, 2012

A not-so-frail ninety-three year lady proves a match for the grueling schedule demanded from Act One Picture’s latest production: The Holy Spirit Today, an upcoming series of broadcasting featuring the ministry of Verna Lizney, winner of the 2005 Best Non-Fiction of the Year Award by the San Diego Christian Writer’s Guild for her book The Baptism with the Holy Spirit, and winner of the “Evangelist of the Year” in 2010 by the Military Bible Association.
Surrounded by three cameras, a intricate lighting set-up and numerous machinery under the direction of Robert Borer, the inner sanctum of Verna Lizney’s gentle home became invaded by a full crew, ensuring a lively chaos that quickly became quelled when the words of love, wisdom and spirituality flowed out of the enthusiastic evangelist. The crew fought the intensity of 90+ degreeweather and skipped breaks or mealtimes under the inspiration of the lady who spoke with thundering authority.
Act One intern David Villa was amazed by how Verna Lizney elevated the work ethic the crew, after which it became apparent that what was scheduled to be a half day of filming turned into a full day with overtime.
“She’s been going on for hours with only sips of water to help her voice. If she doesn’t get tired then neither are we!” said Villa.
Act One will continue to produce alongside Verna Linzey Ministries a total of thirty episodes of programming, which will air on the Christian Network.

Verna Linzey Summit with Pentecostal United Nations Chief of Northern Haiti - Christian Newswire

CAP-HATIEN, Haiti, April 24, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Rev. Dr. Verna Linzey took time during the Verna Linzey Crusade in Cap-Hatien, Haiti for an unprecedented meeting with the Chief of the United Nations of the Northern Haiti region on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the walled compound where the two were residing.

Topics included the purpose for the presence of the United Nations in Haiti, the mission of the United Nations in Haiti, verification of mission accomplishment, exit strategy of the United Nations, strategies for meeting the religious needs of the United Nations troops, the personal faith of the United Nations regional chief Emilio Castaneda with whom the Rev. Verna Linzey met, and the summit concluded with the Rev. Verna Linzey praying a blessing over the Chief, giving him her blessing as he knelt before her and received the laying on of the Rev. Dr. Verna Linzey's right hand.

The United Nations entered Haiti during the mass rioting in 2004 to bring peace and safety to the Hatians and calm the civil unrest. They have remained until the rioting stopped and to ensure a system of checks and balanced are in place to hopefully prevent such an outbreak again. The time frame for exiting Haiti is 2016.

The United Nations has set up a system for elections to remain safe and secure so that democracy would prevail. The mission includes reforming the justice department and the police force. Internal structuring of the very government seems to be part of the mission.

The United Nations provides UN chaplains of various denominations to attend to the religious needs of the United Nations troops. The chaplains are primarily Catholic and Protestant of various denominations. The United Nations chaplaincy is structured much like the military chaplaincy of the United States Armed Forces. The Chief of the United Nations in northern Haiti, Mr. Castaneda, is Pentecostal and believes in speaking in tongues. A Salvadoran by birth, Mr. Castaneda is a nationalized Canadian. His religious experience includes the Faith Mission in El Salvador, Anglicanism in Canada, and Pentecostalism when he attended a Pentecostal Bible School.

Verna Linzey Crusade -- 20,000 Haitians Reached with Baptism in the Spirit Message - Christian Newswire

CAP-HATIEN, Haiti, April 24, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Rev. Dr. Verna Linzey preached in the Verna Linzey Crusade in Cap-Hatien, Haiti April 19-21, 2013 to crowds of 20,000, as estimated by Rev. Eric Maksym who coordinated the event. Rev. Maksym is on the staff of Benny Hinn Ministries.

Rev. Linzey was escorted by her son Dr. Jim Linzey, Southern Baptist Convention minister. Numerous demon-possessed were healed and delivered. In the United States one seldom, if ever, sees people writhing on the ground as demons manifest themselves, thrashing people around, as read about in the New Testament. An estimated 25-30 demon possessed were cured as Rev. Linzey's Hatian ministry team prayed for them and rebuked the demons and cast them out in the name of Jesus. Jim Linzey filmed some of this to show in the states.

On several occasions Rev. Linzey conducted impartation services with the laying on of hands, praying for individual prayer requests and praying blessings over hundreds of Hatians on an individual basis.

Haiti is steeped in voodooism, primarily, and Catholicism, secondarily. The Hatians' ancestors were brought to Haiti by the French during the slave trade, to breed in Haiti for the purpose of selling their offspring. When the African slaves revolted, they gained their independence and began to govern themselves on the island shared by the Domincan Republic. Most Hatians are destitute since there are no investors providing farm equipment and training for the Haitians to develop agriculture.

The reason why the Hatians are so steeped in voodoo is that during the horrendous slave trade, the Africans in Haiti turned to the only religion they knew -- voodoo -- for relief and help from the agonizing suffering. They knew not Christ and that there was no other name under heaven whereby they could be saved from their sins and their terrible plight.

The pastor sponsoring the Verna Linzey Crusade is in need of one million US dollars to build a roof over his large church in Cap-Hatien. The impoverished Hatians are exposed to the elements -- sun, wind and rain during the services. Donations can be made to Military Bible Association, earmarked for this cause.
